‘HOW PEOPLE IN ISLINGTON WON THEIR CAMPAIGN TO GO 20mph’
(Chair, Islington Living Streets)
Monday, 26 September 2011, 7.15 for 7.30pm

Caroline Russell led the successful campaign to persuade Islington Council to go 20mph on all residential and local shopping streets. Islington is the first London borough to go 20mph.
How did they win the argument with Councillors?
What objections did they have to overcome?
Did the Police agree to enforce 20mph?
How is the 20mph speed limit working in practice?
These are some of the questions Caroline will be talking about.
It promises to be a fascinating evening, with lots for us to discuss and learn from. This also links in to Living Streets Londonwide ‘City of 20’ campaign for the London Mayoral election on 3 May 2012, more details and resources on Living Streets website at:
THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. SPREAD THE WORD. BRING A FRIEND.
We will end with a short Wandsworth Living Streets business session, including a report-back of your Committee’s meeting with Cllr Russell King, Cabinet Member for Transportation.
SEE YOU THERE. Please let one of us know whether or not you can come.
